Beyond The Horizon Doula Care is available for primary doula services, virtual doula services, and placenta preparation services. Beyond The Horizon also offers specialized doula services for pregnancy loss, abortion, and bereavement.

Consultations
Beyond The Horizon Doula Care offers complimentary consultations for pregnant individuals and consultations at $20/hr for all other individuals. Consultations are available if you are interested in becoming a client of Beyond The Horizon or if you are seeking information about birth work. These consultations give you the opportunity to learn more about Beyond The Horizon or and learn about birth work and reproductive justice.
Due to COVID-19, all consultations are being held virtually until further notice.
Pricing
Beyond The Horizon Doula Care is committed to providing affordable services for all interested individuals.
We charge a sliding scale service fee based on household income. A limited number of families may be eligible to receive services free of charge annually. Payment plan options are also available for doula services by request.

This service is for individuals who are interested in individualized support throughout their entire pregnancy.
Primary doula services include:

Two (2) prenatal meetings at a location of the client’s choice

Basic education and resources related to pregnancy, childbirth, lactation & nursing, and infant care

Unlimited communication for the entire pregnancy and up to 6 weeks after birth

24/7 on-call support beginning at 36 weeks

Physical and emotional support and advocacy for the entirety of the labor and delivery period and up to 2 hours postpartum

A back-up doula to attend the birth in the case of illness or personal emergency

One (1) postpartum meeting, typically 6 weeks after birth

Unlimited communication for the entire event

Physical and emotional support and advocacy for the entire event

One (1) postpartum/wellness check meeting, typically 6 weeks after the event

Miscellaneous other forms of support to discretion of the client (e.g., assistance with planning funeral arrangement, meal planning, limited childcare)

Services (Pregnancy Loss, Abortion, Bereavement)
This service for individuals wanting to consume their placenta, also known as placentophagy. Long-standing anecdotal evidence and some small scientific studies suggest that placentophagy can provide many benefits in the postpartum period.
Placenta preparation services include:

Pick-up and transport of the placenta within the Beyond The Horizon Doula Care service area OR if pick-up is not available, a transport kit that includes a cooler bag, biohazard bags, and ziplock bags

Complete preparation of the placenta: choice of placenta encapsulation, placenta powder, placenta consumables, placenta keepsakes or a combination of these options

Instructions and guidance for consumption and storage of the placenta products
