Adriana Parker, MPH (they/she) was trained as a birth doula in March 2019 and as a full spectrum doula in September 2020. Adriana is also trained in pregnancy and infant loss, trauma/crisis response, and placenta preparation.

 

Desiring to provide a more expansive method of care for people at various points of their reproductive journeys, she launched Beyond The Horizon Doula Care in November of 2019. Adriana became passionate about perinatal health after spending much of their time in college providing sexual health education and resources to youth and college students. Their interests also lie in social activism, community health education, and the performing arts.

 

Adriana holds a dual Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies and African American Studies and a Master's of Public Health in Health Behavior from the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill.

 

Adriana currently resides in Carrboro, NC. In their spare time, they enjoy attending poetry events and dance workshops, trying new foods, playing video games, and watching Japanese animation.
